ABOUT USVisit Minneapolis North is a destination marketing organization representing 11 cities in the north and west suburbs of Minneapolis and Saint Paul. These cities include: Anoka, Arden Hills, Blaine, Brooklyn Center, Brooklyn Park, Coon Rapids, Fridley, Ham Lake, Maple Grove, Mounds View & Shoreview. Our organization is a member of the area chambers of commerce such as Anoka Area Chamber, Metro North Chamber, North Hennepin Chamber and Twin Cities North Chamber. These chambers are an integral part of the successful partnerships we have with the industry. Other industry partners include Explore Minnesota Tourism, Twin Cities Tourism Attractions Association, Midwest Society of Association Executives (MSAE), Meeting Professionals International (MPI), Society of Government Meeting Professionals (SGMP), National Association of Sports Commissions (NASC), Minnesota Hockey Association, Minnesota Ice Arena Manager Association (MIAMA) and Minnesota Association of Convention & Visitors Bureaus (MACVB). The goal of this organization is to promote the area along with our complimentary services to those planners to drive room night revenue to our member lodging properties. These complimentary services are offered to tournament planners, meeting and event planners, bus tour planners and leisure travelers. How do we gain revenue? A 3% local option lodging tax is attached to every room night sold in the service area. This tax is collected by each member city and then a percentage of this tax is then passed along to Visit Minneapolis North to use to market and promote the area and its services.
